Authority (Registration) Services

 

FMCSA / MC # Authority – There are three types of authorities. Different forms are needed for the Common, Contract and Broker. For this to be granted you must have liability and cargo insurance. Cargo insurance must be for 100,000 and liability insurance must be for 750,000.

Intrastate Operating AuthorityMotor carriers performing for-hire transportation jobs of general freight must register with the Illinois Chamber of Commerce to obtain a Public Carrier Certificate. This only applies to carriers who both deliver and pickup in Illinois.

Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) -
The Unified Carrier Registration Program or UCR is a program that is federally mandated and state administered. UCR Fees are based on the total number of vehicles operated by the carrier. To see the pricing scheme please click the on the name and refer to the PDF document.

USDOT Number RegistrationCarriers that operate in interstate commerce MUST be registered with the FMSCA and have a US DOT number. See link for more information on New Registrants. 


International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) Services:

This is a fuel tax on interstate motor carries, proceeds from which are used to help maintain roadways. To qualify for this the vehicle must have:

 

        1.             Two axels and a gross vehicle weight exceeding 26,000 lbs or

        2.             Have three or more axles regardless of weight or

        3.             Is used in combination and the gross vehicle weight or   

            combined gross weight exceeds 26,000 lbs.

 

        The following are exempt from the IFTA Tax:

     

        1.             Recreational Vehicles

        2.             School Buses

        3.             State of Illinois or Federal Vehicles

 


Safety Services:

Log book auditing ($25 per truck per week) – For local motor carriers only, not out of state. We check your log books against:

 

·         Current Hours of Service (HOS) regulations (11, 14 & 60, 70 Hours)

·         Supporting Documents (fuel receipts, bills of lading, and toll receipts)

·         Providing personal attention to the form and manner of logs and sending safety review letters providing detailed explanations of violations we find within the logs books.

·         Checking log books for speeding violations.                  

 

Pre-Employment Driver Screening ($50) – We will provide an application for the driver and gather a 10 year employment history record and that everything is in compliance with DOT regulations. We will make sure the driver has completed the pre-employment drug test with a negative result.

 

For Extra $20: We will pull drivers MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) to check against driving violations and see if he/she is a good candidate to be employed by your corporation.

 

Check maintenance records for compliance ($35) – We will check if all of your vehicles maintenance records are in order and are kept in good standing with DOT regulations.

 

Random for alcohol and drug test program - We provide a uniform place for all of our customers to enroll in the random drug and alcohol test program and we will help you with setting up your company and employees in the MED-STOP program. We will also manage all of the random tests and send notices of required tests to you and your employees.
